Mladen Tcholitch (Čolić)
Mladen Tcholitch (Čolić) discovered the piano at the age of 4 and inherited a teaching from the Serbian and Russian traditions with Ivana Branovacki then Svetlana Bogino in Serbia. Mladen then perfected his skills at the CNSM in Paris in the class of Jacques Rouvier and Prisca Benoit. He also received valuable advice from Vladimir Krainev, Dimitri Bashkirov, Mihail Voskresensky. His talent is recognized and supported by the Serbian and French Governments, by the Academy of Fine Arts and by the “Mali Princ” Foundation in Serbia.
Mladen is the winner of some forty regional and international competitions, the most prestigious of which are “Maria Canals”, “Premio Jaén”, “Sergueï Rachmaninov”, Memorijal “Isidor Bajic”, Shenzhen Concerto Competition – China and “Vladimir Krainev”. , among others. These many experiences on stage, from an early age, had a very important role in the development of Mladen’s musical and artistic personality.
Mladen is invited by the Orchester de Barcelona y Catalunya, the Orquestra de Granada, the Orchester des Lauréats du CNSM de Paris, the Voyvodina Symphonic Orchestra, the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, the Military Orchestra of Serbia, the Kharkov Symphony Orchestra… under the direction of conductors like Antoni Ros Marbà, Lavard Skou Larsen, Pablo Gonzales, Berislav Skenderovic, Renchang Fu etc.
Mladen’s discography includes two CDs on Naxos, the first released in 2010 “Récital de Piano” with works by Ravel, Schumann, Schubert, Medina and Rachmaninov, the second in 2016 with a selection of Sonatas by Padre Soler.
With his wife Prisca Benoit, Mladen forms a piano duo. They perform in prestigious venues around the world. Their first CD with the two Mozart Concertos for two pianos and orchestra and a Fantaisie concertante on the overture to “The Magic Flute”, arranged by Miroslav Popovic, recorded in Salzburg with “Salzburg Chamber Soloists” under the label of famous Pavane Records reveals some of the artistic accomplishments of this duo.
Passionate about pedagogy, Mladen Tcholitch already has a significant list of students to his credit, some of whom have won international prizes and joined the highest musical institutions in Europe. Professor at the Geneva Conservatory of Music, Mladen is also founder and president of the “Genève Musicale” Association, which devotes its activity to discovering and supporting young musicians through various activities, including a major international competition for young pianists which will take place in Switzerland in 2023 (www.genevemusicale.com).
Mladen Tcholitch is regularly invited as a member of the Jury to various prestigious musical events, including the International Competition “Maria Canals” in Barcelona, the “ASEAN Chopin Piano Competition” in Malaysia, the competition for students of the Geneva Conservatory among others.
