Mladen Tcholitch (Čolić)
Mladen Tcholitch (Čolić) discovered the piano at the age of four and was tought in Serbian and Russian music traditions with Ivana Branovacki then Svetlana Bogino in Serbia. Mladen entered the CNSM in Paris in the class of Jacques Rouvier and Prisca Benoit, obtained a brilliant first prize then joined the advanced training cycle in Prisca Benoit’s class. He has also received valuable advices from Vladimir Krainev, Dimitri Bashkirov, Mihail Voskresensky.
Mladen won numerous prizes in prestigious international competitions (“Premio Jaén”, “Maria Canals”, “Sergueï Rachmaninoff”, Memorijal “Isidor Bajic”, Shenzhen Competition – China, “Vladimir Krainev”, among others).
Mladen Tcholitch is a professor and Dean of keyboard classes at the Geneva Conservatory of Music. He is also the Founder of the International Competition for Young Musicians and the International Festival “Genève Musicale”. Additionally, Mladen serves on juries at international competitions.
Mladen Tcholitch’s discography includes two CDs on Naxos, the first released in 2010 with works by Ravel, Schumann, Medina and Rachmaninov, the second in 2016 with a selection of Sonatas by Padre Soler.
Since several years, Mladen Tcholitch performs in a piano duo with Prisca Benoit. Their first CD of Mozart Concertos for two pianos and orchestra and a Fantaisie concertante on the opening of “The Magic Flute”, arranged by Miroslav Popovic, with the “Salzburg Chamber Soloists” is praised by the prestigious Gramophone magazine and distributed by France Music.
